5 months, 3 weeks, and 2 days ago the first grapes were picked. Today, I am SO thrilled to see all of that work, stress, and craziness pay off as the 2020 Lost Boy Rosé of Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc make it into bottle.
Having spent nearly 6 months on lightly toasted French oak, the Fumé Blanc will now call this antique green, Burgundy style bottle home.
The light, elegant, golden-peach Rosé of Pinot Noir is in a bottle named the Claret. ‘Claret’ was a term used during the middle ages to describe rosé wines coming out of Bordeaux.
Both wines were sealed up with technical corks and will be receiving capsules upon labeling later this month.
What’s next?
The final step before delivery is of course labeling. Designs are finished and the labeling date has been set – we’re just working out the final number of cases going to the US vs staying here in SA. Since each country requires it’s own label, it’s important to get all US orders in as soon as possible.
Thank you all for being apart of this journey!
