I don’t race bikes for a living anymore but as long as I’m alive I’ll ride bikes. The end of November had me behind a starting line for the first time in years for a 3 day event around the beautiful De Hoop Nature Reserve.
The event is a very laid back, experience-focused ride through one of the most incredible nature reserves in the world. The race is composed of timed segments throughout each route. Lomond Wines bravely promised a prize to anyone who beat me – and I’m happy to announce they are still in business today ?
I managed to top each segment, not get hit by any ostriches, and enjoy more fantastic wine than any bike racer should during an event. So in summary, it was a fantastic weekend and my love for cycling is alive and well.
