Wines for the WildLOST BOY
LOST BOY Wines is the passion of American retired Professional Mountain Bike Racer, Trevor DeRuisé.
It was quite a road that led him to Cape Agulhas where the LOST BOY range is farmed and crafted, but the Southernmost Tip of Africa is now home.

ExperienceWine Tastings
Text and photos are fine, but the only way to really experience LOST BOY Wines is to taste them for yourself and hear the stories behind each. Tastings with the winemaker (Trevor) are available all year round across South Africa by appointment. But the best way to taste is by the sea in Gansbaai where the wines are produced. Honest WineIn the Winery
Naturally Fermented
All wines are naturally fermented from the yeast cultures already present in the vineyards. These slow, gentle fermentations yield elegant wines with complexity and authenticity commercial yeasts simply erase.
Additions & Sugar
All wines are dry, with an RS ranging from 1.6g/L to 2.4g/L (4.8g/L on Cap Classique). There is no added sugar, acidity, tannin, etc. for a pure and honest expression of the land and the season.
Sulfites
Sulfur dioxide is used during crush and prior to bottling. This is for protection against unwanted microbes as well as preservation of the delicate aromatic compounds that are highly volatile when oxygen is present. Still, LOST BOY wines will typically only have a total s02 ranging between 10-20% of the legal limit.
Filtering & Stability
Other than a rough sheet filter at the bottling line, all wines are unfined and unfiltered for the purest expression. Rest assured, though, you will never receive a cloudy wine. Cold and protein stability are achieved naturally through time spent in barrel.
